Day 100!

100th Day of School
We’ve waited so long. It’s finally here.
The 100th day of our school year!
We’re ready to count and ready to cheer.
Our 100th day is finally here!

It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. Tuesday was the 100th day of school. It was interrupted by the weather, but we managed to get in many fun activities and finished up the rest on Friday! This group of kindergartners has made so much progress in these 100 days. They’ve grown in so many ways – emotionally, physically, socially, and academically! I am so proud of them.

We used many activities to help celebrate this 100th day of school. THANKS for helping your child collect 100 items to share at school. We are learning to count by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to 100. Most of the students are capable of counting by 1’s and 10’s to 100 and some by 5’s. WOW! We have worked a lot from the 100 chart. We created our own 100 chart this school year by putting up a number each day. We had fun with a 100-piece puzzle. Each day this school year we added one piece of the puzzle, but we created it upside down so we could see the numbers in order. Tuesday we got to flip it over and find out what the puzzle picture was. Well, first it was dropped and we reassembled it by everyone helping. That helped us learn to read all the big numbers.

Here are some of the activities that we did for Day 100:
Shared our 100 collections that came to school.
Compared weights of the collections using a balance.
Sang a marching song to count by 1’s, 5’s, then 10’s.
Collected 100 items for the Wellman food pantry
With W. E.’s help we collected over300 items!!
Found 100 hearts that were hidden around the room & stuck
them on the 100s chart.
Dot to dot from 1 to 100
